Our coffee from Brazil's Sul De Minas region comes from Santa Lucia, a farm managed by the Garcia family, renowned for its dedication to quality and sustainability. Grown at altitudes between 900 and 1020 masl and featuring the Yellow Catuai varietal, this coffee is processed using an Extended Fermentation Natural method. The expertise of producers Antonio Wander Garcia and André Garcia, along with their unique processing, results in a cup with distinct tasting notes of dark grapes, hazelnut, and honey. This exceptional coffee is the product of selective hand-picking and a 72-hour fermentation process, followed by careful drying on patios and raised beds.
Santa Lucia's journey from cattle farming to premier coffee production began in 1994 under Antonio's vision, transitioning to coffee in 1998 with an initial 8 hectares. Today, it boasts 123 hectares, 30 dedicated to coffee, producing 1000 bags annually. The farm also prioritizes environmental conservation, having restored 25% of native forests previously non-existent at the time of acquisition. This commitment to quality and sustainability culminated in winning the 6th-best coffee prize for naturals at the Cup of Excellence in 2016, underscoring Santa Lucia's position as a leading source of exquisite coffees in Brazil.
